Brady Berg
I have been at OSLC for 12 years, though there was a 4 year absence while we temporarily relocated to South Carolina. My wife Annie and I are both engineers, working at Woodward. We met at work in Michigan in 1997 and were married in 2000. We moved Missouri in 2001 and then to Colorado in 2004. Our oldest daughter, Alyssa is 11 years old and is a 6th grader at Preston Middle School. Our twins, Ryan and Katelyn, are 8 years old and in the 3rd grade at Bacon Elementary. We generally like to spend time in the mountains, hiking and camping, though at this point in our lives we tend to spend a lot of our free time at our kids’ sporting events!
I guess what I like about OSLC is that it embodies the parts of the ELCA that I like the most: We are all welcome. We are all part of a greater family and community. Since joining OSLC, we have received a lot – received communion, received blessings, received sermons, even my children received baptism here. Since our kids were born though, we really haven’t had a lot of time to give back to the church. Now that our kids are getting a little older, I feel like we’re having a lot of fun as a family rather than being in a perpetual “survival mode” and we’re now able to give back to our church and our community.
