Spiritual formation is something that happens throughout our lives. As adults we seek to be grounded in a variety of ways and experiences. There are many opportunities throughout the year to engage in different ways. Small Groups are great way to get involved, meet others, and share faith conversations. Groups can be short or long term commitments depending on the desire of the group. Info will be released as small groups happen.
Bible Study
Starting back up on September 4th (Wednesday’s at 5:45pm) OR September 5th (Thursday’s at 9:30am) both in the North Meeting Room.
This fall we will be exploring Stories that are not in the common preaching series called the lectionary. Reasons vary, some are scandalous, some are not suitable for children, but all are interesting.
Theology Pub
Meets the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar.
Prayer Group
We are continuing the Intercessory Prayer group and welcome new members. This group will meet from 10:45-11:45 am, after the Thursday morning Bible Study. We are inviting anyone and everyone to join us. This is a time of meditation and quiet as well as supplication to our Father in Heaven for the needs of our church, the world and ourselves. We follow the steps of prayer illustrated by the acrostic, ACTS. Adoration; Confession; Thanksgiving; and Supplication. It is certainly okay to join us even if you want simply to sit, be quiet and listen. Prayer is a matter of the heart. For more information, please contact Mary Hubbard at: 214-264-9233

A support group open to all who are suffering grief and sadness related to any issue whether it be death, loss of a job, aging, illness or family relationships. We are open to anyone who may be suffering from any difficult circumstance.
We will be meeting the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:00am in the North Meeting Room. We are open to all suffering any type of grief and sadness coming from a broad rang of circumstances, such as job change, moving, medical issues, aging or strained relationships. Brown Bag Book Study
As an outgrowth from Pastor Michael’s Bible Study we have had a book study this past summer. We have decided to continue on during the school year. We are starting with Freeing Jesus by Diana Butler Bass. It is entertaining, personal, and full of spiritual wisdom for all of us – uplifting and inspiring. From the back cover, “Diana Butler Bass, PhD, is an award-winning author of many books, including Grateful and Grounded, a popular speaker, inspiring preacher, and one of America’s most trusted commentators on religion and contemporary spirituality, especially where faith intersects with politics and culture. Her bylines include the New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN.com, USA Today, HuffPost, The Christian Century, and Sojourners.
We meet on Friday’s at 12:00pm in the East Meeting Room. Each chapter of the book is independent, so you may join us anytime! For more information, contact Mary Hubbard, 214-264-9233, iammaryhubbard@gmail.com.
