Mandy Toms (She/Her)

Incoming Pastoral Intern

I am a non-traditional student pursuing a Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a concentration in Word and Sacrament. Alongside my studies, I currently serve full-time as the Outreach and Discipleship Minister at my home congregation, while also raising a family of six with my husband. This journey of balancing seminary, ministry, and family life has deepened my trust in God’s sustaining grace and my gratitude for the support of the wider church community.

My path to ministry has been anything but conventional. I did not grow up in the church, but through the grace of Christ and the faithful witness of others, I came to know the transforming power of the Gospel as an adult. That experience continues to shape my ministry today. I carry a deep passion for reaching those who feel unseen, overlooked, or wounded—walking with them as they discover their identity as God’s beloved children.

In my current ministry role, I have the privilege of nurturing faith formation, fostering community, and leading outreach that connects the church with its neighbors. Whether through discipleship gatherings, service projects, or pastoral presence in times of both joy and sorrow, I seek to embody Christ’s love in tangible and compassionate ways.

As I continue my seminary education, I feel a clear call toward chaplaincy, particularly with veterans and senior adults. These communities hold profound stories of faith, resilience, and wisdom, and I believe that offering spiritual care in these spaces can be deeply redemptive. My hope is always to remind others that they are seen, loved, and never alone in God’s presence.

I am honored to serve as a pastoral intern in your congregation—learning from your community’s faith and heritage, contributing to its ongoing ministry, and growing together in the call to love and serve God’s people.

With gratitude,

Mandy
