HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A CHURCH MEMBER?

I originally started attending OSLC in 2002 when I first moved to Fort Collins. I left the area in 2005 to pursue other work in Denver, but returned to OSLC in 2012. Overall, I’ve been a member for over 15 years now.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY

Evallyn (my 11-year-old daughter) and I currently live in Wellington with our two dogs. Most of our biological family members live in Boise, Idaho, so our friends at OSLC and from my work at Colorado State University, have really become our built-in family here in Colorado.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES?

I like to hike, box, ride my bike, read, play board games and card games, go out to the movies, and visit with friends at the local coffee shops around town.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT OSLC?

I love that OSLC centers around family and places the youth right alongside the adults in everything we do as a congregation. From the first day I stepped through OSLC’s front doors, I have felt a strong sense of the importance of our youth and that they are just as big a part of the congregation as the adults are. I also love that Evallyn has been given the opportunity to fully participate in worship as a worship assistant and acolyte. It’s great that she has the opportunity to be a part of the weekly service and volunteer her talents in those ways at such a young age.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO SERVE ON CHURCH COUNCIL?

I chose to serve on church council to support those who have supported me along the way. Giving back is important to me, and this is one way I saw that I could contribute to the success of our congregation and its’ individual members.
