Outside Our Walls
This group focuses on how to connect with community needs, raise funds for other organizations, and educate the congregation on how they can serve outside the church walls. If you are interested in becoming a part of this group or in learning more, please email Pastor Leta Behrens at email@example.com.
Once again during October, OOW will be collecting items for Pine Ridge Reservation. They continue to be in desperate need of many things. Native American communities have been hit particularly hard with the pandemic, so they really need our help. Please check your closets or go shopping, or make out a check to OSLC and put “Pine Ridge” in the memo line.
OSLC team decided to send $320 of undesignated funds to LFSRM to assist Afghan refugees
At the September Meeting of Outside Our Walls, our OSLC team decided to send $320 of undesignated funds to LFSRM to assist Afghan refugees arriving in Denver. How many Afghan refugees will be coming to Colorado? We don’t yet know, but Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFSRM) is preparing now for when they do arrive. The closest LFSRM Refugee and Asylee Program to Fort Collins is in Greeley, but currently it is expected that Denver will be receiving many Afghan refugees, and our monetary donations now will provide maximum flexibility to provide what is needed without delay. To ensure that donations are used in Denver, go to https://www.lfsrm.org/afghan-refugees/ and choose “Afghan Refugee – Denver Metro” in the drop-down menu. Or mail a check to:
Lutheran Family Services Administration Building, 363 South Harlan St. Suite 200, Denver, CO 80226

Help Support Enrichment Activities for Putnam Elementary
PSD is currently not supporting off-site field trips. Putnam Elementary staff are trying to plan for 52 students in 5th grade to enjoy some educational, enriching and fun activities in place of the traditional ECO-Week field trip.
Some activities they have planned are:
-Trust and team building exercises
-Wild fire causes and fighting methods
-Water ecology and local water importance
-Hikes to learn about rock formations and native plants
Please consider how you can help. Donations should be marked
Thank you so very much!
Fundraiser for Sherwood House
Thanks to all who contributed to the OOW fundraiser for the Sherwood House. They are busily furnishing seven apartments – bedding, kitchen appliances, etc. So our $675 are very important to them.
